roulette strategy for inside bets only?

roulette strategy

Question by -_-: roulette strategy for inside bets only?
i have a math assignment, and we have to think of a strategy using theoretical probability to give the best roulette strategy for inside bets only. So if you have any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated! :)

Your teacher is a fool.

There are many different inside bets in roulette, and they all have the same probability, with the exception of one bet, the “first five” (0, 00, 1, 2, 3). All of the other inside bets (and combinations of inside bets) have the same probability, but different variance.

What do you mean by, “best”?

If you want my opinion of the roulette strategy that is least likely to lose, it is this: do not bet.

For people who realize that the casino is going to win and they are prepared to spend a certain amount of money to play and have fun, there is another strategy, but it is based in psychology, not probability. That is, to bet lots of inside bets distributed widely around the layout. That will decrease the variance so they are highly likely to get large payout, but will still lose in the long-term. It will, however, be fun getting large payouts. That strategy is best for those who want to play roulette to have a good time.

For those who want to take a chance and maybe win a large amount but probably lose, the strategy would be to bet on one number only. It is unlikely they will win, but if they do, they are winning 35:1. That strategy is best for those who want to win a large jackpot.

Nevertheless, the probability remains the same. It is only the variance (and standard deviation) which change.

roulette strategy?

Question by linkinparkguy1980: roulette strategy?
if i bet 35 of the 38 spots on a roulette wheel is that a good bet…if one of the three hits then i bet 32 of the 38…..and if one hits i bet 32 out of the 38 spots…..what are the chances or probability of this coming out 3 times in a row! I know there is black/red betting and you double your bet and i know they say the house has 5% better odds, BUT what i’m saying is, is it a safe bet to play 35 32 32 = 99 against 3 6 6 = 15….betting 99 numbers against 15 without the 15 numbers (say 0,00,1,2,3,4) hitting 3 times in a row

I think there is a flaw in your calculation. You are treating the problem as if you had found a casino with a 114 slot roulette wheel, on which six of the slots were zero’s or double zero’s. You have then calculated that you have 99 winning possibilities against 15 losing possibilities. In fact, you are multiplying the odds of hitting a losing number because you are taking three spins over this bet, so your bet is not as good as you hope.

There are several things wrong with your strategy. The first is, of course, that you should look for a single zero wheel. Most large US casino’s have one these days, although they may have a higher table minimum than the others.

The second thing is to play as much on the outside bets as possible, to reduce the house edge further, if you still want to bet in the manner you describe. The High/Low numbers bets, which pay out even money, lose you only half the stake when a zero comes in. So to make your bet covering 32 numbers, you could put 18 units on ‘Low Numbers’, and cover the remaining fourteen numbers with bets ‘straight up’ or on the ’6 lines’ or whatever.

The most important thing is to change this highly dangerous betting strategy however. The roulette table makes a percentage for the house overall ‘per spin’, and the longer you take to make your desired winning sum, the less chance you have of doing so. Your ‘odds on’ system makes it possible for you to be wiped out in a spin or two, yet you would have to play a winning streak for a long time just to double your money, and I think you would fail.

The only way to win money at a casino game of pure chance, is to be a ‘progressive bettor’, that is to INCREASE your stake when you are playing with the HOUSE’s money. You are actually decreasing your bet when you have had a win, though with your heavy odds-on system it wont make much difference any way.

Start playing for very small stakes on low odds bets, – even money say, and add a corner or splits when you are up. Drop your bet back down if you are playing with your own money. The moment you start to win, increase your overall bets and the length of the odds. And always remember never to chase your losses at the end of an evening or buy in for more than you told yourself you would, before you started playing.

Roulette can be very addictive very quickly, and as an ex dealer I can certainly think of people who I have helped to ruin themselves. I can also think of people (mostly from the far East) who knew how to bet starting from a small amount regularly, and walk away from the tables WIN OR LOSE.

———

(edit) ‘casino manager’ seems to have rather different roulette rules than any I have personally encountered, in the US, the UK, the Middle East, Europe or North Africa. Or the Caribbean islands, or on ships. The outside bets, that is the EVEN CHANCE bets (not the columns or dozens) lose only half the stake when the zero comes in. There are two ways in which this can be taken. One is for the dealer to remove half your stake, (the typical way in which this is done on American Roulette) The other was the way used on French roulette tables, the chip being moved to a position indicating it is ‘en prison’, and awaiting a win/lose decision from the next spin. In each case the house edge is reduced to 1.2% on a single zero wheel. FYI the term ‘casino manager’ is not commonly used in the industry to denote those whose ‘casinos’ consist solely of electronic machines, no matter how they are wired up.

Which Roulette betting systems work?

Question by Nebojsa Djekanovic: Which Roulette betting systems work?
I know that most systems are not working, so I am asking if there is any one that works. Also I would like to know the strategies behind those systems. As I am familiar with Fibonacci (which works), I would like to know about other strategies too.

This is most likely a SPAM account asking a question, then answering it themselves with a SPAM answer. I especially think so this time since you just answered another roulette question with your own SPAM at the end!

In the remote possibility that this question is sincere, there is ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY NO WAY to beat roulette in the long run.

ANY system MIGHT work on any given day. Over time, you will ALWAYS lose money to the roulette wheel. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying because they are trying to sell you something, is an idiot, or both.

Try to beat roulette at your peril.

Perfect Roulette Bet?

Question by Roulette Player: Perfect Roulette Bet?
Is there a Roulette bet where either you lose or you win, you will lose/gain the same amount but the probability of winning is more ?

The closest strategy I got to balance the wins and losses is
on 2nd column
on 3rd column
dollars in 1st column distributed in the following fashion
between 1 and 4, between 7 and 10 and so on.
on 0

If you got a number on 2nd and 3rd coulmns, you’ll win but if you got a number in 1st column, you’ll lose – = .

If you can find any system that works let me know and I will send you a thousand dollars cash! I have a casino down the street from me to test the system! My buddy’s and I have tried all kinds of systems and end up even!

The only way I have ever walked away a big winner was betting 25 numbers just to win eleven! Chances are you will win most of the time but if you lose you will have thrown away 25 chips. I started the other day with only five dollars playing 2 colums until I had 25 dollars and then started to play 25 numbers. I walked away with 326. Good luck and email me if you want to work together on the perfect system, if one exist!

roulette wheel probability?

roulette strategy

Question by vicis non attero: roulette wheel probability?
i have an idea for a way to make money at the roulette wheel. my thinking is to bet the 1:1 odds, like red/black or odd/even. the way i would do it is to start off with a small bet like on black, and if it lands on black to repeat the same bet. but if it doesn’t land on black, you double your bet and increase it by 5. so that the second bet would 15. if red hits again, you double and add 5 again so your bet is 35 and so on with the hope that the wheel doesn’t go on like a 10 red streak. when black hits you start again with the original bet. theoretically, black will eventually hit (hopefully before you run out of money) and you end up winning net per spin. so my question is with the probability, what is the probability that the wheel will hit, lets say for example, 6 reds in a row.
i don’t know if im missing anything, it seems like such an easy strategy, but i don’t think it could be that simple. i realize that its a lot of time spent just to make a hand, but i have plenty of time.
thanks for any help/comments
ok vegas matt, thanks for the help? you didnt answer my question, didnt give me a valid reason why its a bad idea, and you werent very nice about it… so is criticizing ppl on yahoo answers just a hobby for you? must be if you’re a “top contributer”
the reason i double then add 5 is to make up for losing the last bid. say 5 misses, 15 misses, 35 hits… it actuality i put in 55 in order to get back 70. i win over the course of 3 spins. a net of per spin.
hey XandZ, do you think about what you say before you say it? why would anyone risk 5k to make ? thats not what i said. and your wrong about 10 in a row happening all the time. if i did the math right, 6 in a row should happen every 42 spins, with 10 in a row happening once in 608 spins.

Have you tried it? You don’t have to answer that, because I know that you have not. If you had, you’d know that you are destined to lose money. If you actually think you are the first to some up with this, happy 1 day birthday, because you were clearly born yesterday.

what are the odds of getting 20 reds in a row playing roulette game?

roulette strategy

Question by busyb: what are the odds of getting 20 reds in a row playing roulette game?
I’ve been practicing roulette game for over 2 weeks now. So i tried all different betting systems. and after winning and losing X amount I came up with this system. I will bet 1$ on black till I see same color come up 5 times in a row . I will bet 100$ against that color. Lets say red comes up 5 times in a row now I will bet 100$ on black. And if red comes up again i will bet 200$ on black. If red comes up again I will bet 400$ on black. And last bet will be 500$. Since it’s table limit. If black comes up I won 100$ . I have been using this strategy for 4 days now. spending 6 hours a day playing roulette. I started from 1000$ and now I won 20000$. After all this hours of playing I got same color come up 10 times in a row 4 times. So even if i got unlucky and lost 5000$ I’m still up 15000$ more. so I won at least 15000$. And i know it’s gamblers fallacy but what are the odds of getting 20 reds in row and how many times can it happen if i play for 1000000 hours ?

That’s called the Martingale System. You aren’t the first gambler to think it up and you won’t be the last. Many people have lost their entire bankrolls playing that losing system.

You said you’ve been playing this system for 4 days? Have you been playing with real money in a real casino? I assure you, things are different with fake money.

Success with Roulette?

roulette strategy

Question by John S: Success with Roulette?
I never played Roulette at the Casino, and I’m tempted to do it and use the double betting strategy and bet on red. I figure its always bound to go red eventually (it`s 50/50) so eventually I will win. I was wondering if anyone had any success using the double betting strategy??

Best answer:

Answer by Spiraled
The house will always have an edge. That is why they present the game. In your scenario, it isn’t 50/50. You have to consider the green space(s). Some tables have one, some have two. (0 or 00) There are methods to increase your odds but the payoff is minimal unless you have substantial quanitites of money to bet with. I would suggest that if you go, play to have fun, never play to win. If you are in a position that you are winning, quit while you are ahead, because like I said, the house always has the advantage, and over time, they will get it back.
