You can, but for the most part it won’t do you any good.
Most of the online sites use a continuous shuffler algorythm, which invalidates counting efforts. Be sure to check how the site deals the cards before you play there.
You also may want to take a look at the Blackjack Betting Trigger, a strategy that does not involve counting cards, works with continuous shufflers, and works at many of the online blackjack sites. You can get if for FREE for a llimited time here:

You cant because all casinos shuffle the cards after 2-3 games, its impossible to do it online.
TheDover is correct. On-line games as well as video games, all use a continuous reshuffle. Usually after every hand, therefore it’s impossible to have a “true count”. It’ll always be zero. Stick to the basic strategy.
So what about the movie 21
NO, in almost every online blackjack game there are no card to count, each card is ramdomly “created” at the begining of each hand, then destroyed when the hand is over, and then new ones are created for the next hand.
For card counting to work, you keep track of cards dealt to know what cards remain undealt.
~SOME~ online casinos use a simulated shoes games with horrible penetration making card counting hypothetically possible if you used a bet spread of maybe 1000:1, you could also hypothetically backcount in a game liek that but since its online, there wouldnt be other players sitting at the table to play the hands you dont want to play and eat the cards for you, so that brings you right back to the 1000:1 betting spread.
In nutshell, its just not going to work.
The ability to exploit card counting in online casinos today is limited. Some casinos, like cryptologic casinos, offer single deck blackjack but you’ll see very strict wagering requirements.
You can increase your odds especially in multi-player games but you would not make money on the long run.
Optimal strategy cards for several popular Microgaming and other blackjack games will probably help you: http://www.blackjack101.biz
You can but what a waste of time. Do you think the online casinos would be that stupid that card counters could beat them online???
