Is it dumb to play blackjack online?
Question by Curious: Is it dumb to play blackjack online?
I’m thinking about playing some blackjack online, but for the same reason I won’t play the computerized slot machines at a casino (I think they’re rigged), I’m wondering if playing blackjack for money online is a bad idea. If you can recommend an honest site (assuming such a thing exists), I’d appreciate it.

It’s not a bad idea as long as you’re not paying any real money to play. Gambling sites, in my opinion, are rigged for the most part

most gambling sites are completely random and not rigged as you might suspect. fact is they are gambling games and you will never win money out of them. I wouldn’t ever suggest playing for real money online though.
It really depends on what your objective of playing on-line is.
I can think of 2 general reasons. One is a healthy, reasonable reason to play on-line blackjack. The other is “dumb” as you put it.
Reason #1 – You want to entertain yourself on your computer, and you don’t mind spending a set amount of money each month doing so. Perhaps $ 200 per month you will spend playing blackjack. You really enjoy the game, and you don’t mind spending that sort of money because of how much fun you have playing the game. VERY GOOD REASON to play!!! This is a healthy and realistic attitude towards gambling.
Reason #2 – You want to “win” money. DUMB AS A POST!!! On-line casinos were made for ONE reason only – to TAKE your money!!! Anyone who thinks they have a “system” or method of any sort to “win” against a casino is delusional, ignorant, a fool, or all of the above.
So now it’s your decision. If you really find playing casino games entertaining, and you don’t mind the fact that you WILL lose money, then it’s not dumb at all. If you actually think there is a way to win money, then it is about as dumb as it can get.
Here’s a site if you want to play blackjack.

For me online casinos are not rigged. They use a software that generates random results. Gambling itself have the odds against you winning.
casinos don’t need to rig games as there is already an edge built into every game – that’s how they make their money. If you do want to play i would suggest cherry red – a well established on line casino. Also some basic strategy might be useful for you as well.

Online or offline you have little chances to win, the games are made to win money to the house. A good and safe online casino list can be found here http://www.gamblingsafe.net/online-casino-reviews.html
Rushmore is very good casino.
The default position should probably be that they are rigged because they ‘can’ and there’s no way you can detect it. You are placing your money into the hands of nameless, faceless strangers without anyone to keep them honest. Whether any individual one is rigged or isn’t can only be known by the folk who own it and run it.
The people who assert this isn’t true either have convinced themselves because they want to believe it, or they’re posting here to cheerlead for online gambling. They are as ignorant and I am and you are unless they are online gambling insiders, in which case they’re going to tell you the sites aren’t rigged no matter whether they’re rigged or aren’t.
If you want to play just for fun, it’s fine, but if you want to make money, I don’t recommend it.
In blackjack, the house has the edge, unless you count cards, and you won’t be able to count in online blackjack because it randomly generates cards giving the house a big edge.
Unless you don’t care about the odds and just want to gamble
It is smart of you to ask around before you try it. Many online casino sites are simply scams and if you play at them for real money, you will lose, or you will not get paid if you win. Here is a link to the Online Casino Blacklist, with the reasons they are blacklisted.

If you are going to play online, then once you pick a site, then be sure to search the site in Yahoo with the site name followed by the words, SCAM, ROGUE, RIPOFF, or CHEAT.
If you are planning on playing for money, then here is a page full of tips and advice that may help you out: http://www.thedoverpro.com/blackjack.htm
And keep in mind that card counting does not work online, even at an honest site, because the deal is made using the same formula as a continuous shuffler, so with each deal it is like the whole deck is in play.
Good luck!
