Question by jay_jenkins420: is online practice roulette the same as when you play with real money?
I use bodog.com they let you play roulette for free, with play money to practice. i can play for an entire day and just win, i have a good strategy, but my question is. if i start paying with real money are things going to change? id imagine it would be illegal to have it setup differently. Also I know in real life the ball has landed on one color 15x in a row, but online it seems like it dosen’t do that. ive been playing for day’s most solid color ive seen it 7 in a row.

Take your strategy to the real money table and see how you get on.
Numbers produced should be completely random as the roulette ball has no memory of its last number.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
Good Luck.

In my experience, the free games on pretty much *all* online casinos play very differently than the money games. That said, the money games are “fair”, as far as that goes when it comes to gambling. The reputable online casinos aren’t going to have a wheel that NEVER wins, that’s counter-productive for them. They want you to keep coming back.

As for the color/ball question, I’ve definitely played roulette online and had the same number come up twice in a row, so it happens.

Roulette, more than a lot of casino games, is really a game of pure luck. The site in the source has some info on the best types of bets to make to improve your odds. Good luck!

To my knowledge online gambling is all offshore, meaning it is not based in the US and therefore not subject to any sort of regulation, so the question of whether it is illegal to set up a wheel differently is moot.

That said, there are 2 types of wheels, Euro and American. Euro has one “0″ and American has “0″ and “00″. Since there are 36 numbers on the euro and the payout for a single number win is 35 to 1 but the odds are 36 to 1, the house has a built in advantage of about 2.5% On the American wheel the advantage is 35/37 or about 5.5%.
What this means is that over a long period of time, each bet you place will return you about 95% of what you wagered. The trick is to hit early, before the odds catch up to you, and leave!
