Q&A: Is there any strategy to Roulette?

Question by The Protagonist: Is there any strategy to Roulette?
As much as you may think I’m a liar, I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. So whenever I my father and I would go into a casino for dinner, I would overhear some people talking at the roulette tables telling a player to put the ball on a certain number, and to bet a certain amount of money. I have thought for years on this, tossed it around back and forth with my family, but they don’t really have a solid answer.
So is there any real strategy to roulette? Because I think it’s 100% luck oriented. Your opinion.

Generally speaking, not losing is a good strategy.
But don’t go all in on chance for high returns because it’s not going to happen. Stick to black and reds until you have a good stock of chips to make more risky bets.

There’s probably a strategy for every possible gambling game, and a self-designated expert declaring each as gospel. Or a legion of self-designated experts. Even Pick 3 and Pick 4 lottery draws.
The number of evangelizers on any given method doesn’t testify to anything much in terms of validity. If you doubt this, take a walk around the blackjack tables and watch a while next time you’re in a casino. Watch the play long enough to note how many of the players swear by the conventional strategy card given to new players, preach it, swear by it, curse heretics who don’t follow it. Then pay attention to how many of them are winning.
The same’s true of the wheel and ball you asked about. Probably any strategy in roulette is equal to all others. The only difference is a religious doctrine among the players subscribing to one over the other and the size of the lies they’re willing to tell concerning their own experiences in their respective faiths..
The only strategy is to not play at all.
Roulette is 100% chance and there is no winning strategy.
no real strategy, but people claim there is a pattern in the dealers spin, and that they can guess a general area the ball will land. So basically taking the wheel and dividing it into x amount of sections like a pizza. When I tried it I did about 5 or 6 sections roughly and it is kind of good, because you are betting a section of numbers rather than random spots. so if you are putting 10 numbers, then put 10 numbers in a row together
the roulette wheel is a great way to make a quick buck if you pay close attention and watch the lights on the board
as a very close rule the ball will come back in a cycle when its played consistently by the same roller watch down the list if 6-8 rolls ago it was hitting 0n 9 your best bet is to play 9 or other on list i wont say you will win first try and if you do win first try don’t think you have mastered it.
be very careful if you stay at table to long and continue winning the house will throw you out for hedging bets illegal as they call it
There are lots of strategies to playing roulette, and almost everyone has their own. Some people think you should bet on numbers that seem to be hitting a lot. Some people think you should bet on numbers that haven’t come up in awhile (because they are “due” to hit). Some people think some numbers are “luckier” than others.
What you probably heard was someone looking for a trigger number. Say 3 has hit twice in a row, they’ll say bet on the 3 because it’s hot, or bet on the numbers around the 3 (on the wheel, not like 2 and 4).
Now, this doesn’t mean any of these strategies are long term winners, because they’re not. There are a couple of theoretical ways to beat roulette, but I won’t get into those because that’s not what people you were hearing were talking about. There are no betting patterns or ways to beat roulette in the long term by predicting numbers or varying your bets. This is just how people play. They think they can beat the game by doing this or that. It they didn’t, they probably wouldn’t play at all.
Here is how I play… You have a 48% chance of winning everytime… Not to bad right?? It could happen surely… Well with every round you play if you advarage it out.. the longer you play the lower your chances or winning get.. you will just slowly lose money… So If I have $100, ill bet $100 on black (or whatever) first time, and if I double my money I leave with $100 (yay now I can pay rent). If I lose, then I leave with nothing (The same amount I would have left with if i kept playing in smaller amounts).
some spinners get into a pattern when spinning the ball if you watch for several rounds then you can from there pick a wheel section to bet. all n. american roulette wheels have the same number pattern(what numbers are next to each other) i like to play the 17 section which means i play 17 the numbers outside of that which are 5 and 32 and the numbers outside of that which are 20 and 22. the ball lands anywhere in that section of the wheel i win but in the end it is still a game of chance
All you said was that you were born in Vegas, and you assume people think you are liar? Wow…
Yes, roulette is just luck. Sad that your father couldn’t just tell you that… you had to take solace in a Yahoo answer board with people you assume will think you are lying.
The strategy I use is to bet on the 2nd and 3rd block of numbers. It improves your “chances” and pays 3:1. Therefore you but $5.00 on each one and if it hits 14 or higher you will win $15.00. It has worked for me alot.
Roulette strategy is not like any other gambling strategy. The most common points in it are based on the fact that roulette game is a game of chance and no player or gadget can predict where the ball will land.
Therefore, no strategy can increase your odds in several times, it just can increase your winning chances by giving you advice on how to bet in order to win more and lose less.
Online Roulette is based on the RNG, therefore you cannot predict the landing of the ball and as soon as the ball lands the probability of the next number being the same is equal to the probability of any other number coming up.
The first thing we are to mention in the roulette strategy is that you are to choose the European wheel as the odds here are higher than the odds of American roulette (2.7% to 5.26%).
The next tip is to look for the Surrender rule which will allow you to take back half of your bet on the even number bets (high/low, red/black, odd/even) in case the ball lands on 0 or 00.
If you have a chance, use the En Prison rule which allows you to save the bet in case it landed on 0 for one more spin. This means, if you placed a bet and the ball landed on 0 the bet will be kept for one more spin and in case your bet wins on the second try you will get your money back. In case the ball lands on something else, you will lose your bet.
In a game of roulette, a player has to bet on an even or an odd number, black or red color otherwise on the number columns. If you are amongst those who want to avoid the crowd of a regular casino you can simply log into a website that offers facilities of playing online roulette. There are numerous sites offering online casinos and roulette being a popular game is included in all sites
house edge ( rounding up ) is 6 %……since it is a slow paced game compared to craps blackjack etc. the house edge is really 3%…don’t place a bet every third spin and we are talking 2%….now we are talking….roulette has low comfortable chairs…play a 3 hour session, sip top shelf single malt scotch, and earn a buffet comp you turn the tables on the casino…..find a hot wheel; you leave with cash in your pocket…….here is another thing self proclaimed experts and top contributors don’t understand….the casino turns about a 2 dollar profit on every free drink they serve you…..
Yes, the strategy is don’t play. Or you can always steal from the table, einstein said that is the only way to beat the game of roulette
