Question by Awareness: What Casino Games actually have Strategy to them?
Besides Poker, maybe blackjack if you count cards, but are there any besides poker that have an actual strategy to them – assuming you know when to fold and a little about probability? Not video poker, even with a pair of aces you win nothing because you play against the machine…sucks your money…

So are all the other games in casinos pure luck?

Poker especially texas hold em habe strategy. Casinos arent meant to let you get good and win money from them they are meant to get money from you!

The payoff percentages on slot play are legally adjustable so why not the blackjack games? I am referring to blackjack games that have real people for dealers.Probability laws donot appear to hold true in casino blackjack even if you are only watching the game over an extended period of time.

No, the cards don’t lie. It’s a percentage game simple as that. If counting cards were legal more people would beat the house because it’s easier to know when to hit or stand. The dealer has the same chance on drawing cards of equal, same or lesser value. The trick is watching what other players are doing at the table. Depending on their cards and whether they hit or not (those sitting before you) will have a lot to do with whether you stay or hit. To count cards you appoint the number 1 to cards 10 thru A and 0 to cards 1 thru 6 and ignore cards 7 thru 9. So each time an A comes up you add 1. If the next card is a, say, K you add another one for a total of two points. If the next card is a 3 you subtract 1. When it’s all said and done, counting this way, when you have dealt one entire deck of cards you should be at 0. That’s why many tables use more than one deck. It’s harder to keep up with the count. DO NOT try this in a real casino. It is illegal, can be banned from that casino and every other one in the town and, I’m not sure, but I think it’s a criminal offense as well.

i saw in atlantic city caesars you can bet
15,000 baccarat
25,000 blackjack
you don’t need to have higher average bet to do this, you can walk right in and make those kind of bets…..anybody know of any othe casinos with higher bets than this without asking cause these are the set limits for all players

most casinos have a ‘High Roller Club’ some places call them Platinum or Gold Clubs the more u play the house and win the more comped you’ll get if u got the bucks all u have to do is ask the Concierge he/she will hook u up.

In games like Pai Gow Poker or Baccarat, you have to pay 5% commission if you win, but in other games like Blackjack, no commission is required. I’m just wondering why this is.

You have to pay a commission because there is little to no house edge. This gives the house the advantage they need to offer the game.

If you think about it, you can either bet on the banker or the player in Baccarat. The banker has an edge over the player (since they theoretically “act last”). The 5% commission overcomes this edge.

In Pai-Gow, the banker only has a tiny edge (because they win copies). The edge is so small that they wouldn’t be able to offer the game and make a profit without the commission.

Whenever a casino lets you bet on both sides of the fence, they have to take some of the advantage back in the form of commission or changing the rules slightly.

For example, in craps, you can bet on Pass or Don’t Pass. These bets are complete opposites of each other except for one thing. If you bet Don’t Pass and the shooter shoots a come out roll of 12, then you push instead of winning. This is how the house maintains its edge.

On AVERAGE, you can expect to win about 4 out of 10 hands, possibly 5 out of 10. The trick is in knowing how to maximize your wins and minimize your losses. If you play perfectly, the house odds come down to about 53%/47% in their favor.

I’m getting to know some casino table games and was wondering which ones are best to avoid and which ones are better to try. So far, I’ve tried Baccarat, Three-card poker, and Blackjack with decent success. I’m also told basic Craps bets and Pai Gow Poker are good as well. And Let It Ride seems like a bad bet. Any thoughts?

Avoid the ones you don’t enjoy playing.
I don’t enjoy roulette, so I don’t play it. I’m sure I play some things that have a higher house edge than roulette, but gambling is supposed to be fun.
